about me

hi, i'm valentin. i play the electric bass, the upright bass, the drums, and a few other instruments that help me navigate the spaces between rhythm and noise. i grew up in the lower engadin valley, surrounded by mountains and silence. today i live in bern, where i completed my studies in jazz education at the hkb in 2024. i love to play live on stage and i'm lucky to share that space with many beautiful, inspiring people. i'm also drawn to sonic exploration, always looking for ways of bending sound into new shapes. whether it's through pure data, circuit bending, or reworking field recordings, i'm constantly experimenting, trying to expand the edges of my musical language. ultimately, i just like to hear things that surprise me. i weave these experiments into the compositions for my project, unrooh.
